It’s about time cannabis was legalized

I am so relieved the recreational cannabis now legal in my state. I’ve been waiting for years. When medical cannabis was finally approved, I immediately got my card and visited one of the first dispensaries to open in our local area. However, a medical cannabis card comes with some restrictions. I am a firm believer that cannabis should be available to every adult. It’s certainly no more dangerous than drinking a glass of whiskey. Cannabis has been used for its medical benefits for thousands of years. The propaganda against cannabis that scared so many people and led to its inclusion on the restricted list was due to the greed of politicians. It’s taken way too long for people to open their minds and begin to appreciate the potential opportunities of cannabis. Legalizing it has generated an incredible amount of income for the local government. It’s created jobs. So many people are finding relief from medical and mental issues and are able to resume their normal lives. Cannabis has shown promise in the treatment of Alzheimers, PTSD, glaucoma, epilepsy, addiction, depression, cancer, nausea, aches and pains and more. It can help with everything from eating disorders to arthritis and acne. I simply like to smoke or vape a bit of weed in the evening before bed. It relaxes me. I’m able to wind down after a long day and think positive thoughts. I sleep better at night and wake up feeling refreshed. It’s no different than drinking a glass of wine. I’m not smoking weed all day long at work. I’m not under the influence of cannabis when I drive. I use it responsibly.
