I feel blessed to be living in a state that seems to be ahead of the times with social & political progress.
The two of us were 1 of the very first states that legalized same sex or “Gay” marriages. Even though it soon became legal all over the country, it felt very historic when the laws were initially changed for this state. There has been quite a bit of environmental conservationist efforts here as well, with many supporters from both sides of the political aisle. The two of us also have a far higher minimum wage compared to the rest of the country, & it seems that workers here are much happier overall. It was no surprise to myself and others when I first saw medicinal marijuana on the ballot more than 2 years ago. After it passed in a few other states 1st, I knew that it was only a matter of time before it became legal in our state. I’ve been a medicinal marijuana patient the entire time, however the costs each year are significantly high. There’s a fee to see the dentist each year, & the cost to recertify your card with the state. Thankfully the two of us just recently passed a new law legalizing recreational cannabis sales. Now the two of us don’t have to pay steep fees to retain the right to buy marijuana, although the taxes caused the prices of products to go higher. Our legal cannabis market is so extensive now that most of the legal cannabis stores all now offer cannabis delivery services. I get high quality cannabis flower products delivered to our doorstep for free. I prefer our apartment state & our readiness to embrace change compared to a few other places in the country. If it’s only a matter of time for these social changes to happen, why dig your feet into the ground & delay the inevitable? That’s what I don’t understand about the rest of the states.
