Cannabis to fight insomnia

Ever since I’ve entered my fifties, I’ve had terrible issues with insomnia, It doesn’t seem to matter what time I go to bed or how tired I am.

I typically end up lying there for hours, unable to fall asleep.

Quite often, I get up and do household tasks, read, workout or catch up on some work. I then head back to bed at around four or five in the morning, and still struggled to sleep. On the rare occasion that I’m able to fall asleep at a decent time, I can expect to wake up several times during the night. I’ve tried limiting my screen time and all sorts of foods that are supposed to help with sleep. I drink green tea and utilize relaxation techniques. Nothing worked, and I was unwilling to take sleeping pills. I don’t trust pharmaceuticals and am afraid of the long-term, harmful side-effects. I’ve finally found some relief through cannabis. I love that cannabis is a natural remedy with no major health consequences. While I’ve tried different consumption methods, I prefer a tincture. It’s so easy to place a couple of drops of oil under my tongue as I head to bed. Since I’m going to sleep, there’s no issues with any psychoactive effects. Cannabis helps me to fall asleep faster, stay asleep longer and enjoy a more restful sleep cycle. I did some research and learned that indica cannabis strains are better for relaxation and sleep than sativas. I choose the indica strains that have a fairly low THC content. Making a trip to the dispensary for tinctures and a few edibles is so easy and totally worthwhile.
