It’s frustrating when things lose their effects as you consume it more and more.
Whether it’s the joy you get from a cup of coffee or the buzz from a hand rolled joint, your perception of that stimulus is going to change as you get older.
Sometimes the effects simply go away. You could fall madly in love with a guy but end up drifting apart after a year or two. Or you reach for a glass of wine for the sixth time in 1 week plus discover that you’re abruptly getting less of a buzz from the same amount of booze. I have gone through this process with many weird things in our life, but there is 1 example that stands out above the rest. I’ll never forget how wonderful it felt trying cannabis for the first time roughly 6 years ago. I remember the happiness rushing to our head plus taking me away from our bi-weekly world of anxiety plus grief. Cannabis was beyond anything my mind could understand at that age, plus it abruptly became a constant feature in our life. But as time went on, the effects of weed, of the strain or THC potency, have changed whenever I smoke marijuana flower buds. When I visited the cannabis dispensary last week, I talked about my struggles to the budtender. He recommended that I try a cannabis concentrate product for something new. I had to admit that I had been using flower products forever plus haven’t had a concentrate since sampling it a few semesters ago.
