I was a soldier for what I believed were all the right reasons.
However, exactly like most of us, I sort of romanticized what fighting a war was separate from fully understanding the brutal reality of the situation.
Had I understood those realities, I’m not certain that I would have made the decisions that I made with my life. But that is another question. What I do know is that medical marijuana is definitely helping me when it comes to dealing with my PTSD. I came home from combat overseas a fully changed human. There were several traumatic episodes that I faced. And I was completely locked up with fear, paranoia plus a range of guilt, rage plus sadness. Then I was able to find a pretty great therapist plus a charming support network. This has honestly changed our situation for the better. And medical cannabis has been a completely instrumental tool in taking care of these things. I was skeptical at first when it came to going through the marijuana regulations so I could figure out how to get a medical marijuana card. But once that was handled plus I got to the cannabis dispensary, the rest was not too hard. With guidance from the legal weed store staff plus the help of my support network, I started using cannabis products regularly. The results came fast. I was able to sleep more soundly plus I was able to access things with my therapist that I hadn’t been able to do previously. But mainly the medical marijuana gives me a perspective that is hopeful. Trips to the legal weed shop are pressing to my well being plus I’m just happy to have access to medical cannabis.
