I had been going to the same medical doctor for the last 10 years.
There was something about this doctor that both unnerved me and yet made me feel comfortable.
It wasn’t until the last twelve months that I realized what it was about him that had me on the edge most of the time. He and I were both about the same age, and we pretty much spoke the same language. We discussed everything and I had no qualms telling him exactly how it was. On the subject of legal recreational marijuana came up, we had quite a discussion. He brought up the subject of holistic health. I wanted to know what the term holistic health meant and exactly what it meant when it came to modern medicine. My grandfather was a shaman in our American Indian tribe. My grandmother taught me a lot of medicine that surrounded the different herbs that you could find in our natural habitat. My doctor told me that holistic health was built around these traditions of herbs and healing. More recently, holistic health was talking about the use of marijuana and marijuana products to help with different ailments and health issues. He told me that he truly believed that the use of different marijuana products could help with the aid of cancer treatments, rheumatoid arthritis, general pain management, and even quite a few different mental ailments. I asked if he would ever diagnose the symptoms and recommend holistic health to his patients? His response was simply to tell me that if the hospital allowed it he would have recommended holistic health years ago.
